During this one-hour Aboriginal bush tucker / medicine walk, participants will have the opportunity to learn about traditional healing practices, and gain a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage and wisdom of Aboriginal culture.

Suitable for all ages. Please note, Killalea Regional Park is accessible for those with wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams, however areas are grassy/gravel and uneven.

Location: The Farm Kiosk, Killalea Regional Park

This immersive experience will not only introduce you to a variety of native plants but also provide insights into their rich cultural significance and traditional uses for food and medicine.

Engage in activities that will deepen your connection to the land, such as gathering and preparing traditional foods or crafting medicinal remedies. Through these experiences, you will gain a profound appreciation for the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Indigenous cultures, as well as a renewed respect for the natural world.

This workshop will operate at a maximum of 10 participants.

Embark on a fascinating 1-hour tour led by our experienced guide, who will unveil the deep cultural significance of various plants found in the Australian landscape. Gain a profound understanding of how these plants have been utilized by Aboriginal communities for sustenance, medicine, and spiritual purposes for millennia.

During the tour, you will witness firsthand the traditional methods of harvesting and preparing these plants, passed down through generations. Engage in interactive demonstrations, learning the intricate techniques that ensure the plants’ sustainability and respect for the land.

Moreover, our guide will offer profound insights into the spiritual connections between the land and Aboriginal people, revealing how these connections are woven into the fabric of their culture and identity. This immersive experience will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the intricate relationship between nature and Indigenous communities, enriching your understanding of Australia’s rich cultural tapestry.

Your Gumaraa guide will meet you at The Farm Kiosk, at Killalea Regional Park, SHELL COVE, 2529. Please arrive 10 mins prior to start time.

Water bottle, sunscreen, and hat are recommended for sun protection.

Cancellation Policy:

Thank you for choosing our services. We understand that plans can change unexpectedly, and we strive to accommodate our customers as best as we can. However, in order to maintain the efficiency and sustainability of our operations, we have established the following cancellation policy:

1. Refund: If attendee cancels within 24 hours prior to workshop/program held date, refund will not be given, only change of date pending availability. Attendee must cancel prior to the 24 hour timeframe to receive full refund. In the event Gumaraa cancels due to minimum participants not being met, a full refund will be given, or change of date offered pending availability.

2. Change of Date: We understand that circumstances may arise which require a change of date for your booking. We allow one (1) change of date per booking, subject to availability. The change of date must be requested at least 10 days prior to the original booking date. Any changes requested within 10 days of the original booking date will not be accommodated.

3. Availability: The change of date is subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability of alternative dates, especially during peak periods. We recommend contacting us as soon as possible to request a change of date.

4. Additional Charges: Any changes made to the booking, including a change of date, may be subject to additional charges. These charges will be communicated to you by our customer service team once the change of date is confirmed.

5. Non-Transferable: Bookings are non-transferable to another individual or entity. The person who made the original booking must be the one requesting the change of date.

6. Force Majeure: In the event of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, such as natural disasters, strikes, or government-imposed restrictions, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings at our discretion. In such cases, we will make every effort to notify affected customers as soon as possible.
